The Plaza de Las Nieves has witnessed the main events of the parish program of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Las Nieves and two great Marian events: the feast of August 5, with the arrival of pilgrims from all over the island, concerts and procession of the image around the temple, the congregations on the occasion of the lowering of the throne and the transfer and return of the Virgin during the Shiny Descents and processions of Holy Week, Christmas, New Year and Kings.

The square, paved with pebbles and pebbles, has a stone fountain, pile or circular tank, with a pillar for the spout. The silence that oozes - interrupted by the music of the water from the fountain and by the intermittent arrival of devotees and tourists -, the shadow of the jacarandas, magnolias and araucarias, the landscape of the pine forest and the surrounding architecture (the rectory , the house of pilgrims, the restaurant Parrilla Las Nieves and the sanctuary) make this square one of the most charming places on the island of La Palma.
